Plug in your own numbers. The defaults are just examples, so change them to match your situation and the rate a lender quotes you.

$2,502/mo

About $702 more than your rent each month.

FAQ and myth-busting

Myth: You need 20% down.

Not necessarily. Many loan types allow much less, and NC has assistance programs. A lender can tell you what applies to you.

Myth: Renting is always cheaper.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Run your own numbers in the calculator above, then talk to a lender.

Do I need perfect credit?

No. Requirements vary by loan type. Checking your credit early gives you time to improve it.

What if my lease doesn't line up?

We can plan around your lease end date. Some leases also have early termination options, so check yours.
